Bleacher report had a list today, seems some is debateable.

and discussion for the doldrums perhaps

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1244031-afc-south-time-machine-the-10-best-houston-texans-of-all-time?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=houston-texans

1. Andre Johnson
2. Matt Schaub
3. Demeco Ryans
4. Mario Williams
5. Arian Foster
6. Eric Winston
7. Owen Daniels
8. Chester Pitts
9. Duane Brown
10.Brian Cushing

I was thinking Aaron Glenn should be on there somewhere.

Glenn should definitely be on there. His INT TD to beat Pittsburgh when we had like 25 yards of offense was a classic.

I'd also have Cushing higher. He has not played as long as Pitts/Winston/Daniels, but his two best seasons are better than any one by those three. I'd have Foster in the top 2/3 by the same logic.

I think #1 is the only spot that isn't up for debate.

I don't know if Winston and Pitts are even on my list.

Aaron Glenn and Gary Walker are two who should be on the list. Jaime Sharper is a close one. And Foster should be #2 IMO. And I would move Brown up higher on this list.

And what no Chris Brown or Jacoby Jones? :D

How quickly they forget Domanick Davis-Williams or whatever he calls himself now. I miss DeMarcus Faggins.

Why is Eric Winston #6 ?

The story, the very brief history of the Houston Texans to date is not complete without the David Carr chapter, even if not as one of its 10 greatest players.
He's one of the most well known, most prominent, most important, certainly most controversial, most disappointing, etc. the team has had so far.

Ok, PK summed up most of my thoughts, but I'd say Seth Payne deserves at least a mention in this thread. Take out Pitts and Winston and add Glenn and Payne.

Domanick Davis and Jamie Sharper were good pros, but not good enough for this list. Pitts, Winston... might as well toss in Steve McKinney as guys who were just likeable fan faves. Zach Wiegert was arguably as effective (or moreso) than these guys, but nobody's gonna put Wiegert on a list like this.

What about the 10 Most Infamous Texans so far? Much more interesting. :p
List is comprised of those Texans whose on-field accomplishments are weighed against their off-field scrutiny and abuse by fans and media.

NFL Network style, which means I am going from the bottom up, with some incredulous rankings, total headshakers, and missed picks snuck in as honorable mentions...

10. Tony Hollings... 2nd round supplemental RB selection, better known as Yet Another Time Casserly Thought He Was Smarter Than You.
9. James Allen... RB better known as Mersilus... in his dreams. (ok, #9 is too high for this, but whatever, just enjoy the rest of the list.)
8. David Carr... 1st overall pick, better known for being sacked and all-too-infrequent haircuts.
7. Bennie Joppru... 2nd round TE, better known as The Gimp.
6. Philip Buchanon... CB acquired by expensive trade, better known as toast.
5. Matt Stephens... Free safety, better known as a Free Pass safety (and a later motorcycle injury).
4. Jason Babin... Target of a trade up, better known by HPFBob as the Painted Lady.
3. Tony Boselli... 1st expansion pick, known for being pudgy and collecting paychecks.
2. Jacoby Jones... WR/Returner abused by fans for a muffed playoff punt.

...and before we go to #1, here's who almost made the cut as Honorable mentions... Dunta "Pay Me, Rick" Robinson, Seth "I'm no magic" Wand, Amobi "Eternal Rookie" Okoye, and Demarcus "Petey" Faggins.

1. The Rosencopter... The play itself has taken on a life of its own.

I knew there was someone I was missing.

Keith, don't forget our 1st team All Pro returner Jerome Mathis.

As for your list I would have Carr at #1. Today the NFLnetwork was replaying old Hey Rookie shows and DC was one of the guys highlighted. You could see the makings of bust then if we had only known where to look.

Carr at #1 was too obvious to the NFL Net execs. Gonna find a way to boost ratings, give it a talking point. I almost put Toro #8 until I remembered ESPN did that with Secretariat on their list of greatest athletes a few years back.

Casserly/Capers drafted how many All-pros - AJ, Babin, Mathis.
Smith/Kubiak All-Pros - ?

Ahman Green deserves a mention on the infamy list. Dude just took the money and didn't run.

I think we will get more because team has to win to get recognition.

From Casserly/Kubiak dradt had Mario and Demeco.

Then before last year from Smith/Kubiak had Cushing and Foster.

Then last year we had four, Cushing, Foster, duane Brown, and Jonathan Joseph. And a few more to pro bowl like JJ Watt and Chris Myers.

Hope I didn't forget any. Lookiing forward to see many more for Texans.

I'd like to add Trindon Holliday to the list. How many times can this guy get a chance to do absolutely nothing? Just when you think it's over, it's not over.

I think you are underrating Trindon, I understand that he's winning the 40 yard team wind sprints on a regular basis.
