Reports are that Ty Warren is impressed with the Texans this offseason and is willing to take the veterans minimum to come here. Sorry I can't provide the link...I am on my phone... What do you think? That would solidify one of the strongest offseasons we have had in our relatively short existence.

So long as he can pass a physical (and eventually the conditioning test) he would be a very nice, cheap addition. Great chance to avoid putting JJ Watt into a Kareem Jackson role (starts without competition and no relief.) Adding him to a DL rotation could be excellent for the team and JJ Watts progress.

At the vet minimum he's basically a free player, let's go Rick Smith!

To me this is a no brainer, sign the man now.

Seems like a guy we ought to sign, experience, good player, leader type, wants to be here.

he was out last year with a hip injury

@AdamSchefter: Broncos land former Patriots DE Ty Warren with a 2-year, $10 mil deal that includes $2.5 mil guaranteed.

He is 30, had hip surgery and came in out of shape. I think we need DE depth, but he may not have been the right guy and THAT is not the right price. Denver way over paid.

Would have been a nice signing at vet minimum, but not at 5 mil per. Oh well, that's how FA goes.

I'm still trying to figure Denver out, they claim they are going to run a 4-3 yet all of their big moves this offseason have been guys that fit a 3-4 better.

And most prominently LB Van Miller who was taken very high in the draft (2nd or third overall) ? New HC Fox definitely ran his D out of a 4-3 all the years he was at Carolina, so yea their player acquisitions are puzzling ?

Agree on passing on Ty for that level of cash and on the curious front 4 Denver is building. Let's also not forget that their best bincumbent pass rusher is Dumervil, who also appears better suited for a 3-4. In fact, it seems they have the makings of a really good 3-4, only they don't run one. Very odd.

While I'm not upset they passed on Ty for that much, I saw where the Saints signed Aubrayo Franklin to a 1 year deal. Don't know what the money was, but that is someone I had hoped the Texans would show some interest in.
