I wonder if they will be signing Vontae, a few other of team FA, and draft picks now.

I'll be willing to bet they hold out signing VL until he brings down his price inline to close to what he made last year - fair, or not.

Update from Mark Berman at FOX26:
The only team his agent would confirm is involved is the Houston Texans where Leach has spent the past five years.
League sources told FOX 26 the other teams involved with Leach are the Dallas Cowboys, Baltimore Ravens, Denver Broncos and New York Giants.
"There are multiple teams expressing interest in Vonta," said Ralph Vitolo, Leach's agent. "We are still hopeful Vonta can return to the Texans, if at all possible."

What does Vontae want, something like $3M/yr? The Texans will use Casey at FB before they will do that.

He wants $4MM or so a year is my understanding. He deserves to be paid, don't get me wrong, but FB is just not a glamor position and $4MM is a luxury that I am not sure the Texans can afford.

I know this seemingly hurts, but I don't think it hurts as bad as everyone thinks. Casey is supposedly be moving into that slot, which, as long as he can block worth a lick in the running game, might actually open things up a bit more in the passing game. In addition, I think you'll see a lot more 2 or 3 TE packages.

Yeah, would have been nice to keep VL, but he wanted his payday, so, I guess a mutual choice to let him go to Baltimore.
And, agree, James Casey is a good enough athlete, he needs to get a shot somewhere, so, this helps there. Hope it works out well for all.
