Rich Lord & co,.on Sports 610, were discussing the news coming from the NFL labor talks this afternoon, and were saying there was substantial new agreement on a new CBA. Could we have the NFL by the 4th of July? Let's hope so. I am really tired of this.

If they got a deal worked out by the 4th, what would the scenario leading up to a RS beginning on schedule on 9/11 look like ? They'd need a week for FA, and then would they try to squeeze in the OTAs sometime during the rest of JULY before TC with preseason games starting at the end of July & running thru August ?

If I had a guess, I would bet they would have OTA/minicamp in July, then get off for a few days then go right into training camp.

If they sign by July 4, I would expect the regular season to start on time. I would expect the hall of fame game to be canceled, we might also see a a week of preseason go away for this year, but then again the owners like making money in preseason and might not want to miss any of those games.

The Chronicle is saying it should be done by July 15th., but that doesn't give much time for FA and any OTA's the team might try to shove in.
