Here's the players I see as key targets for the Texans post-draft, add more as you see fit:

Dashon Goldson** FS (49ers) - A great match with the current CBA difficulties as he has already been tutored by new Texans DB coach, Vance Joseph, and is familiar with the system. Brings a solid veteran presence to the position and should be reasonably priced after a slight downturn in 2010 (following an excellent 2009.)

Manny Lawson** OLB (49ers) - Sticking with the 49ers, I'd like to see Lawson brought on in as part of a rotation, backup, or replacement if Barwin has an injury setback. Only one year with 5+ sacks, should keep his cost reasonable. He also teams back-up with his college counterpart, Mario Williams.

Any of the following CBs: Josh Wilson**, Johnathan Joseph**, Brent Grimes**, Antonio Cromartie - I know I know, I want Nnmandi too. But I don't see anyone convincing Bob McNair to give the largest DB contract to a 30-year-old CB. The next level down will still be expensive, but they have youth on their side. I also don't think the Steelers let Ike Taylor go.

**Requires a CBA agreement or other decision that allows FA to occur after four seasons.

While he is 31, perhaps Nate Clements also from San Francisco could be a solid experienced CB for a couple years while these young guys gain experience?

Jamal Williams NT (Broncos) - He's an old man (35), but brings a load to NT position. Broncos just let him loose as they switch back to the 4-3. He'd have to be used situationally but at 6'3 348 I'd like to have him against the bruising teams like Pittsburgh and Baltimore in 2011. Unfortunately, you can't just teach 348!

How about UDFA's?

I'd like a new punter, please. The Florida guy (Chas Henry) sounds interesting. From his wiki page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chas_Henry):

Chas Henry (born January 6, 1989) is an American college football punter for the Florida Gators football team of the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. Henry won the Ray Guy Award in 2010, recognizing the best punter in college football.[1] During the Gators' 2010 season, Henry punted forty times for 1,892 yards (47.3 average) and fourteen of his thirty-four punts (41.2 percent) were fifty yards or more. Fifteen of his punts landed inside the 20-yard line and only eleven were fair caught. Henry also assumed place-kicking duties while starting place kicker Caleb Sturgis was injured, and kicked the game-winning overtime field goal against the Georgia Bulldogs. Henry was a member of the Gators' 2008 BCS national championship team.

Perhaps the Texans have some MIB (men in black) working on some of these FA's and UDFA's? ;)

Henry is certainly one of the UFDAs I would like to see come in.

I would like to see some meaningful competition for Neil Rackers, too.

I would like to see some meaningful competition for Neil Rackers, too.

With the restrictions of the training camp roster, Kubiak will not bring in a new punter and a new kicker to compete. Be happy if they bring in one guys to compete with our worn out punter.

You be happy, I won't!

here is one that would be nice to see happen, AJ recruiting NA to be CB here.

Andre is a little busy, speaking some on FA, now asking to keep Vontae

http://bleacherreport.com/tb/b9CYS

I guess Vontae was just as important as most of our linemen to the successful running game, so I too hope they can find a way to keep Vontae.

Although overall, with more and more emphasis on pass offense, many teams aren't even carrying a fullback anymore.

If we dont sign Asomugha then there's no reason why we shouldn't be able to give Leach what he wants.... There is no other player in free agency or our roster that will be able to do what Leach does.

We need to keep Vontae in any case. For our running game, he is a need. The best lead blocker in the league. And Araian's right hand man.

someone should probably go by there, see if he shows up, huh? Cromartie would fit nicely, methinks.

Cromartie would be great, but with all the other CB's we now have, I rather doubt that McNair will let them offer enough to get him in here.

Looks like Ike Taylor will test the FA market (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/06/25/ike-taylor-sounds-like-hes-ready-to-leave-pittsburgh/), I remember an earlier rumor that the Texans had a lot of interest in him.
