The Texans will be traveling to Jacksonville this Sunday to take on the Jaguars. The 4-4 Jags have wins over Denver, Indy, Buffalo and Dallas - losses to San Diego, Philly, Tennessee and KC. When the Jags lose, it is usually in blowout fashion, when they win, it is usually a lot closer. The defensive focus of the Texans should be on containing Maurice Jones-Drew in the running game and Mike Sims-Walker in the passing game.

Assuming the spread was initially opened subsequent to Sundays games, wonder why it moved 2 to 2.5 points, and moved to the Jags ?
And I'm looking forward to seeing an old Texas fav of mine for the first time with his new team - D-Rob. I tend to think, all things considered, it was a good idea not to retain Robinson for another year here but can't help but wonder how things might have been different in '10 if the Texans had kept him ?

The only bright spot I can see for this week is we are playing away from home. Lately we haven't played that well anywhere, but at home seems like we are 0 for zilch!! Richard Justice (arrogant a**hole), but this time he may be right. He says the Texans aren't terrible, they just don't seem to be there! Other than the secondary sucks, and the offense is fast starting to, he would seem to be smack on this time. Wow is Me! Will this team ever get it's head out of it's arse?

Oh yeah, and believe me, we are better without D-Rob's guardhouse lawyer talk. But I believe he plays for the Falcons, not the Jags.

The Houston Chronicle has the opener as Jags favored by 1 with no change so far. Sometimes a bettor will hit a spread early in the week if he thinks the oddsmakers are way off but most wait till the last minute after gathering info to bet...

Suggestion: take Jacoby Jones out of punt returning and make Special Teams special again. He's 29th with an avg of 8.9 yards per return. Double that and then he's in the top 10 avg

I think most anticipate a fumble before a TD out of him.

Seems we had a lot of penalties during kickoffs and punt returns first several games of the year, with many nice runs brought back.

JJ has done better catching the ball and running well this year, when given a lane to run. He had a 39 yard run last game. He was pretty shaky his rookie year for sure.

I'd rather see some shake-ups on the defense side of the ball, we need to do something to get lots more pressure on the passer.

I guess I will predict we win, 27-24. seems I've been right half the time so far this year.

I think it's huge that Aaron Kampman, the Jags' best pass rusher, is out for the game. Similarly Alualu also got nicked up this week in practice.

Our offense should have no trouble keeping the ball and allowing the defense to rest. If ever there were a game for our defense to get some confidence, this is it.

If we lose this weekend I think we're staring at 7-9 for the year. If we win we might be able to go on a nice run. Personally I think we'll roll.

Coach Gary Kubiak said after practice today that new cornerback Jason Allen could play at Jacksonville.

Allen, a five-year veteran claimed on waivers by Miami, worked overtime with the defensive coaches today to pick up as much of the system as possible. How much Allen learns will determine whether he plays and how much he plays, Kubiak said.

Allen, who also has played safety, said the coaches have told him he'll focus on cornerback for now.

Meanwhile, tight end Owen Daniels has been ruled out of the Jaguars game. Daniels has been out with a hamstring injury. He said he hopes to play in the next game against the New York Jets.

You know what's funny? His first year with the team I was living in Miami and I made the drive up to Skynrdville to see the game. I sat near a guy who was wearing a Kevin Walter jersey, a real one, not an Academy one, and I asked how and why the hell he had it. He told me that he was Walter's brother. The funny thing is I see that motherscratcher at damn near every home game. He clearly parks in the Blue Lot and ambles into the game about when I do. I watch a good bit of the NFL Network. They never, ever talk about the Texans and rightly so, they have been totally irrelevant for their entire existence. Now they are no longer irrelevant, they are instead a league-wide joke. I have never been embarrassed to be a Texans fan until today. Not in the 2-14 year, not ever. Until now.

Next week the Texans are going to get utterly demolished by a team that is currently struggling against the Cleveland Browns.

I thought that the Texans would go 6-10. Now I'm seriously not sure that they will win another game. The defense gets worse each week and Kubiak refuses to modify the offense in acknowledgement of that.

Foster ran the ball fifteen times. That is not enough to determine whether it is working or not. He gained 56 yards on 15 carries.

I'm with you on the screens, though. He's a real weapon with the ball in his hands and I'd get it to him any way I could.

I think in a game where you know the opposing pass D sucks big, if you're not getting consistent 6 yard chunks running, don't even bother and get the ball to him in other ways.

Whatever. That's the least of my concern right now. I'm trying to find out what I did to deserve this...with all my sports interests.

I have about had it with this team, the Jekyl & Hyde offense, the worst defense I have ever seen, and the coach and all the pretender assistant coaches. They are an embarrasment to the League.
