I'm hoping we can finally overcome the hex or whatever Indy and Peyton have over Texans. Seems we coulda/shoulda beat em two or three times in past couple of years.

Avoid turnovers and control clock are supposed to be part of the way to beat Indianapolis and likely just about every team.

I hope our DL can get some pressure on Peyton and rush his throws for a change, and hope we can keep those 20 yard passes to a low minimum. So we likely see a lotta nickel type packages, wonder which LB's will be in for that and which CB's?

Just get it done, baby. No first game letdown. Come out guns blazing on both sides of the field. Gotta set the tone, rattle Peyton a bit. Oh, and get a freakin' man on Dallas Clark.

I have this vision where the Texans are right there at the finish, trailing by two at the Colts 30 yard line with ten seconds left...and Rackers shanks the FG attempt off to the left.

I wonder if that was the thought process behind Cushing get a lot of snaps during the preseason. If Ryans and Diles are the only LB's on the field for 90% of the plays, does it matter if Adibi gets a lot of work? Perhaps Cody only plays on 1st down, that is if we can substitute while the Umpire sets the ball. These are the guys I expect to get a bulk of the snaps.

-----------Barwin Smith Okoye Williams
-----------------Ryans Diles
Quinn Pollard Wilson McCain Jackson

I thought about that a lot. Like you I wondered why the hell Cushing was getting all those snaps in preseason. I have to imagine that the team had always planned on showing the Colts something completely different.

It's amazing how psychologically damaged we really are :(

I figured we'd be up by 6 with 1:30 to go, and we'd watch helplessly as Peyton Manning marched the Colts down the field. Reggie Wayne abusing our 1st round pick for a couple of big gains. Then Dallas Clark leaving Diles run one way as he cut for the endzone to catch a pass over Eugene Wilson. Colts win 37-36 ;)

The good news is we beat the spread.

If we lose this game because Manning kills our youthful secondary primarily because of the total absense of an effective pass-rush, what's the chances
of the Texans offering a deal to Schobel he simply can't cant refuse ?

We've had alot of practice over the years. Rosencopter, blowing 17 point leads, fumbling and the ball stays inbounds...

Eventually the law of averages has to catch up to us. Why not this week?

If we blow another lead and loose a heartbreaker, we need to do something big... a situation that absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be
done... And We're just the guys to do it.

The Texans defense is going to be facing a quarterback who may very well be the best ever to play the game while missing its best player. The Colts have three very good wide receivers which is three more than the number of very good cornerbacks the Texans have. The Texans are going to throw a rookie CB out there. I assume they'll play lots of zone but whatever they do the rookie's going to need a lot of safety help and there should be plenty of space in the middle of the field for TEs or slot receivers. Since they began running the 4-3 the Texans have never had anything resembling a pass rush from the interior part of the DL. That will need to change. In fact, several defensive players are going to have to play the game of their lives just to stay in this thing. And Schaub and company are going to have to score 40 points to keep the Texans alive. That's an awful lot of points for an offense whose running game and red zone effectiveness are huge question marks.

Colts 28
Texans 17

Red Zone offense Kills us, and Peyton scores the back breaker in the final 3 minutes.

And the roller coaster starts going down fast.

Boy I hope I am wrong on this...

Howdy everyone.

While every Texans fan and coach knows we are 1 and 15 against the Colts, Koobs has to be very upset with the opening loss last year against Jets.

I smell upset.

I am going with our Safety Pollard and believing we have the guys to win this game, a positive approach. We can play with high intensity and consistency and take it from the Colts. Not worried about our secondary, or DL, they can play tough and dominate. And our running game and scoring in the red zone will do very well. New season and forget those past thoughts, abra cadabra, hocus pocus, bad thoughts be gone now.

so, Texans 34 and Colts 20 . Ok, I'm ready for Sunday now.

No prediction on the score. I just hope the roller coaster has more ups than downs this year, starting with the Colts. We need this game to jump start our winning record in our division.

I don't have the greatest memory, which can actually be a blessing sometimes. I know Pollard was not in the game last year and that our strong safety play left a lot to be desired. I know Caldwell was not playing and I assume he will be an upgrade over what we had that day. I know we have Smith at the other Starting guard. I know JJ had not taken a step up. I know Reeves is gone and Dunte too. I know Slaton had gained 20 pounds and lost a lot of his speed. Can anyone remember any other significant differences between this year's opening day squad and last year's opening squad. If anyone remembers the actual starting lineup I would love to see it.

Manning's O-Line is not real healthy right now.....Saturday is coming off a scope, thier starting LT is gimpy, thier backup LT is a rook.

Thru my battle red kool-aid glasses..........28-24 Good guys!
